about
DeVry Institute of Technology |
 |
DeVry's historical roots lie in the technical education movement of the early 1900s. In 1931, Dr. Herman DeVry established DeForest Training School in Chicago to prepare students for technical work in electronics, motion pictures, radio and, later, television.
Today, DeVry Calgary offers undergraduate degree programs in the fields of business and technology. DeVry's technology-based degree programs integrate general education with industry-specific coursework to enhance the students' personal development and career potential. Instructors focus primarily on teaching, insuring that students receive high-quality instruction. DeVry assists students in attaining their career goals beyond the classroom by providing assistance with part-time jobs for students and career opportunities for graduates.
DeVry seeks to consistently achieve the following purposes:
•To offer an applications-oriented undergraduate education with a balance of humanities and social science courses and career orientation to help students gain the knowledge, skills, and credentials needed to meet the current and future challenges of a global economy.
•To provide a curriculum developed, tested and continually improved through regular outcomes assessment and consultation by our faculty and administrators with business leaders and other educators.
• To promote teaching excellence through comprehensive faculty training and professional development activities.
• To provide an interactive and collaborative educational environment that strengthens learning and contributes to life-long educational growth.
• To provide services to students that contribute to academic success, personal development and career potential.
